A schoolgirl was found dead at Goalkhali under Khalishpur police station in Khulna city yesterday morn-ing.
The deceased was identified as Ashrafi Maliha, 12, daughters of police couple constable Alamgir Hoss-ain and sub-inspector Mohsena.
Police said family members found Maliha hanged with ceiling in the morning. Later, police recovered the body.
Sub-Inspector Asaduzzaman of Khalishpur police station said Maliha hanged herself from the ceiling with a scarf sometime on Tuesday night. “She might have killed herself over depression.”
The body was kept at the Khulna Medical College Hospital mortuary. She will be buried after her mother returns from Congo where she is engaged in the UN peacekeeping mission.
