Unidentified individuals hurled bombs three times at the residence of Chapainawabganj’s police super on Saturday night.
Police Super Bashir Ahmed said two young men riding a motorbike came by the front gates of his residence at around 10:45pm and hurtled three crude bombs that broke through the windows into the house. When security guards gave chase to the criminals and opened fire on them, they fled the scene abandoning their motorbike and helmet.
Police later recovered two bombs left intact and the abandoned motorbike and helmet from near the SP’s residence. The police said they have initiated a drive to capture the criminals.
Deputy Commissioner Sardar Sarafat Ali visited the spot.
