Authority of Rajshahi University has taken disciplinary actions against three teachers on various charges.
Of the teachers, associate professor of Music department Krishnapad Mandal has been prohibited from taking part in any kinds of administrative and examination-related activities for about 10 years as forgery allegation brought out against him had been proved.
The decision was taken in a syndicate meeting held on Saturday night with RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Mizanuddin in the chair, RU Registrar Professor Entajul Haque said.
The university authority has formed a probe committee following Dr Ashit Ray, another associate professor of Music department, has submitted complaint against him.
“As Krishnapad Mandal has been found guilty by the probe body, syndicate has taken decision against him,” said Entajul.
The promotion of Krishnapad Mandal would be stayed for the term and he would not be the supervisor of any researcher, he added.
“As Krishnapad Mandal in his recently published book copied few parts from my Phd research papers without taking permission and not mentioning reference, I registered a complaint to the university authorities recently,” Dr Ashit Ray said.
On contacted, Krishnapad Mandal declined to make any comment over the issue. He said the decision of the syndicate yet to come to his hand.
Besides, the syndicate also suspended a lecturer of Accounting and Information system department Mamun Hossain as he has lost examination papers.
The syndicates also gave a show-cause notice to Dr Muhammad Abdul Mazed Chowdhury, professor of Accounting and Information System department as he allegedly took bribe from a candidate in the name of giving job, confirmed registrar Entajul Haque.
“Two separate probe body have been formed to investigate into the allegations brought out against Mamun and Mazed,” said registrar Entajul Haque.
Mamun and Mazed also did not respond when they were contacted for their comments over phone.
