The Walton-Ministry of Liberation Affairs Independence Day Kabaddi, involving seven teams, gets underway at the kabaddi stadium today.
The teams have been split into two groups with Bangladesh Army, defending champions Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Fire Service placed in Group A while Group B comprises Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Jail and Bangladesh Navy. The top two sides from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
In a press conference held at the National Sports Council conference room yesterday, the additional director of Walton, FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn presented the event to the media. The chairman of the tournament committee and federation vice president Nizamuddin Chowdhury Parvez and member secretary ANM Mahfuz Khan were also present on the occasion. The final is billed to be held on March 30.
