Four DMCH doctors- Ashraful Haque Kajal from pediatrics surgery department, Professor Shahadat from urology department, Firoza Wazed from gynecology department, Professor Abul Kalam from burn and plastic surgery department and another guest gynecologist Sayeba Akhter conducted the surgery.
DMCH Deputy Director Khaja Abdul Gafur confirmed it to Dhaka Tribune on Monday.
Dr Ashraful Haque Kajal said: “The condition of the victim was too vulnerable when she was brought here. We waited until today morning to have her fit for the surgery.
“We conducted the operation from 9am to 1pm today. We hope we have done it successfully.”
Victim’s father said: “We came to know the operation was successful. Now we are waiting to meet her. We wish she recovers soon.”
The girl from Jomirhat of Parbatipur in Dinajpur went missing on October 17 and was recovered from a nearby field in critical condition the next morning.
Police arrested the main accused Saiful Islam from Dinajpur town six days after the girl had been recovered.
