The court of Chittagong Divisional Special Judge Mir Ruhul Amin passed the verdict against Mohammad Yunush.
The court also acquitted three others – Nosrat Ali, Mohammed Iqbal and Golam Morshed – as the charge brought out against them could not be proved.
According to the case statement, he murdered Shomsher Ali calling in New Chaktai area on November 9, 1997.
Later, the father of the victim, Dewan Ali, filed a murder case accusing the four while police had pressed the charge sheet to the court in August 7, 1998 implicating them.
Later, a court had framed charge against the accused in March 1, 2011.
