The deceased are Giash Uddin, 40 and his wife Jasmine Begum, 35.
Jalalabad police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akhtar Hossain told Dhaka Tribune: “Giash’s body was found hanging and his wife was also found dead on the floor of their residence in Hausa village on Saturday morning.”
“On information, a police team led by Inspector (investigation) Omar Faruque rushed to the spot.”
“Gias was mentally unstable. We are investigating whether it is the reason behind the deaths,” the OC added.
Police sent the bodies to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College morgue for autopsy after completing two inquisition reports.
