
Of the injured, five people were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical state.
Locals said when 15 priests went to Iskon temple ground to lay stone of another temple on a vested property land, a group of people led by Dulal Krishna Das and Porimal Das went to the spot and claimed that the land was their property.
At one stage of the altercation, Dulal Krishna Das and his followers swooped on the priests and a clash ensued between them, leaving 10 people of the both groups injured.
During the clash, an adjacent temple was also vandalised. On receiving information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Sub-Inspector of Jhalakathi Sadar police station said the situation was normal. Police would take actions against the people responsible for the clash.
