Chowdhury Mueen Uddin, a former National Health Service (UK) director, was convicted of being guilty of leading a vicious militia and execution of 18 intellectuals during Bangladesh’s war for independence in 1971.
He has also been named as one of Interpol’s most wanted British fugitives, reported The Sun.
Mueen Uddin was sentenced to be hanged by a war crimes tribunal in Dhaka, which he claimed was highly flawed.
His lawyers branded it a “show trial” and he refused to attend.
It has been reported that Mueen has been living in a £1 million home in London, and has been seen shopping and visiting a mosque.
One neighbour even said Interpol could not be looking very hard.
Speaking at his residence, Mueen said all the cases and evidences against him were rubbish, and that he has launched an appeal against the Interpol red notice.
He has even been photographed with Prince Charles at an Islamic event in Leicestershire.
Bangladesh police have urged Scotland Yard to arrest him.
Human rights lawyer Toby Cadman however said they were unaware he was hunted by Interpol until told by The Sun.
