Now under the New York law, the money left behind by Saleh would go to his parents – Raihana Saleh and Saleh Uddin Ahmed – as he died without a will and had no wife or children
Bangladeshi-origin US technology entrepreneur and millionaire Fahim Saleh, who was murdered and dismembered last year, was worth $6 million when he died, according to court papers.
Fahim didn’t leave behind a will, said papers filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court by one of his sisters, Rifayet Saleh, reported New York Post on January 21.
According to the court papers, Saleh’s only debt was a $1.8 million mortgage on his $2.2 million East Houston Street seventh-floor apartment.

Now, under New York law, the money left behind by the slain techie would go to his parents — Raihana Saleh and Saleh Uddin Ahmed – as he died without a will and had no wife or children.
Saleh’s sister, Rifayet asked the court to be quickly appointed as the administrator of Saleh’s estate so that she can access funds to continue the operations of his businesses, New York Post furthered, quoting court papers.
Meanwhile, his “parents and siblings desperately wish to preserve and cultivate the businesses in order to fulfill the decedent’s ambitions, which were cruelty and prematurely denied to him,” the court documents said.

The court filings showed that a judge allowed Rifayet to collect $4 million from the estate.
According to the New York Post report, the man who answered the phone where Rifayet lives declined to comment on her behalf, and a lawyer for the estate also declined to comment.
Fahim was discovered dead on July 14, 2020, when his sister went to check on him at his apartment on East Houston Street on the Lower East Side.
Officials said she was worried after not hearing from Fahim for about a day, The New York Times said.
Police said after entering the apartment, she discovered Fahim's head and limbs had been removed, and parts of his body had been placed in plastic bags designed for construction debris. An electric saw was plugged in nearby.

Investigators said Fahim was killed the day before, according to a fourth official with knowledge of the inquiry.
A video showed that an individual, police believe to be Haspil, followed Fahim into his building and then into an elevator, where they appeared to engage in small talk, the officials said.
The suspect, who was carrying a duffel bag, was dressed in a black three-piece suit and wore a black mask and latex gloves, according to the officials.
As the duo left the elevator, which opened directly into Fahim's seventh-floor unit, the assailant fired a Taser into the victim's back and immobilized him, law enforcement officials said.
The suspect then stabbed Fahim to death, wounding him multiple times in his neck and torso.
