Police fear that the death toll could rise further as many of the injured were in a critical state
In a tragic accident, at least 16 people were killed and around 30 injured when a bus collided with a three-wheeler light carriage vehicle at the Sachendi suburb of Kanpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
The deceased could not be identified immediately, while the injured have already been taken to the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in the area, reports the Hindustan Times.
According to police, the death toll could rise further as many of those who were injured in the fatal crash were in a critical condition.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident, instructing the officials concerned to be present on the spot and provide all possible help.
