The bodies of two Bangladeshi nationals have been found from a container in the Greek capital of Athens.

“Bodies of the deceased were recovered on Monday from a container by Greek police,” a senior foreign ministry official told Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday, quoting a report from Bangladesh Embassy in Athens.

Hailing from Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj, the duo was identified as Abdul Momin and Shahin Miah. However, their professions and age could not be confirmed immediately.

According to Greek police, their bodies had marks of beatings and that no gun was used, he said, adding that the next course of action will be taken once the autopsies of the deceased duo are conducted.

“Our embassy is in constant touch with the Greek authorities in this regard,” he concluded.
