Trump: China, Russia, India spewing stuff into air

The US president had also argued that countries like China and India are benefiting most from the Paris climate agreement and that it was unfair to the US

United States President Donald Trump has taken a swipe at countries like China, Russia and India for adding to global air pollution and maintained that his country has the best environmental numbers.

Trump said the US has achieved energy independence under his administration and has taken measures to protect the environment, reported India Today citing PTI.

The US president’s comment came during an election rally in North Carolina on Thursday.

“We have the best environmental numbers, ozone numbers, and so many other numbers. In the meantime, China, Russia, India all these countries they're spewing stuff into the air,” Trump was quoted as saying by the news agency.

In June 2017, Donald Trump had announced his decision to withdraw support from the Paris climate agreement, saying that the accord would have cost the US trillions of dollars, killed jobs and hindered the oil, gas, coal and manufacturing industries.

The US president had also argued that countries like China and India are benefiting most from the Paris climate agreement and that it was unfair to the US.

Two years have passed, but Trump’s view on the subject remains the same. During Thursday’s rally, Trump again blamed China, India and Russia for contributing to global pollution.
