A famous south Indian film actress was allegedly raped in her moving car while she was on her way to work on Friday night, The Times of India reported. The actress was going to Kochi in Kerala to dub for a film when her car stopped after being hit by a vehicle tailgating her car.
According to the police, the driver of the victim connived with the accused to stage this accident to let the men enter her vehicle. The driver then got back into the car and started driving as the other accused molested her.
Reports claim that the actress was molested in a moving car for about an hour, till they reached Palarivattom, which is roughly 25km away. After reaching Palarivattom, the accused men got down and fled into another car. Apart from taking videos and photos of the actress, the gang also threatened her of dire consequences inside the running car.
“The actress was travelling in an Audi car. The gang followed her in a tempo traveller and hit her vehicle from behind in what at first seemed like a mishap. Her driver Martin stopped the car and then two men from the tempo entered it and threatened him to drive. One more person was picked up on the way and driver Martin was asked to board the tempo behind,” The Asian Age quoted a police official.
“A total of seven accused, including Sunil Kumar, have been found involved in the act during our probe. We’ve taken four into custody for interrogation. Martin was arrested as he was found to have made over 40 phone calls and sent several text messages to Kumar while picking up the actress,” he added.
Martin was reportedly engaged by the victim just three days before the alleged incident. The accused kept driving the car around the Kochi city for nearly three hours while the accused molested her and recorded videos of the act.
Police said the medical examination confirmed the actress had been raped.
