Update : 06 Apr 2017, 03:47 PM
A video that went viral recently on social networking sites has raised questions regarding the importance of the life of a child in comparison to the VIPs. Netizens reacted to the two-minute video posted on Facebook on April 1 that showed an ambulance carrying a bleeding child being stopped for a few minutes for VIP movement in Delhi, reports The Indian Express. The widely circulated video also shows how a few people were trying to negotiate with police officials to let the ambulance pass.People were also heard saying that the child’s life holds more importance than a VIP’s movement. According to the report, the incident took place near gate number 14 of the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium and the route was blocked for public movement as Malaysia’s head of state was to pass. Stating that policemen only followed protocol, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) MS Randhawa told The Indian Express: "My team cleared the way for the ambulance, which was stuck at the back of the traffic, and a few minutes later the ambulance was on its way." He said that there was no complaint lodged from the family of the patient.
