
A 22-year-old man was allegedly beaten up by five men for conversing in fluent English with his friend in New Delhi, India.
Local police have confirmed the matter to the Hindustan Times. The incident was reported in the early hours of Saturday and police have arrested three men in this connection to the case.
A resident of Noida, Varun Gulati, had come to a five-star hotel in New Delhi's Connaught Place to drop off his friend Aman in his friend Daksh’s car.
While Varun walking towards the hotel, a group of five inebriated men rounded him up.
The five men asked Varun why he was speaking in English, and got into an argument.
Later, the men assaulted Varun and fled the scene in a vehicle, police said.
However, the victim managed to note down the number of the vehicle – with the help of which, police have identified and arrested three of the accused. They are now on looking for the other two assailants.
