The United Nations Security Council delegation which visited Bangladesh for a first-hand assessment of the impact of the Rohingya crisis has left the country for Myanmar.
The UNSC team held a press conference Monday morning. Three members of the delegation – Gustavo Meza-Cuadra, Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi, and Karen Pierce – briefed the press and said the Rohingya crisis is a major priority for the UNSC.
Karen said: “We are going to Myanmar and speak to the people there. We are going to find a solution to this problem.”
The team said the Rohingya issue will be tabled during the next session of the United Nations Security Council.
The delegation earlier met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
