It should be noted that Tripura has two Lok Sabha seats
India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders hopeful to win both the two Lok Sabha (lower house) seats in the northeast Indian state of Tripura in 2019 election during a high-level meeting which was held in Agartala on Sunday.
According to sources in the BJP Tripura unit, General Secretary Ram Madhav stated that in the last six months, the BJP-IPFT coalition government has taken pro-people measures. Among them, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s fight against narcotics has received wide appreciation. It has caught countrywide attention as well.
“The BJP party leadership is fully confident that it is going to win both the Lok Sabha seats in Tripura owing to the good work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last four years and also due to the good work carried by the State Government in Tripura for the last six months,” the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav stated in the meeting optimistically.
Striking a similar note, BJP National Secretary and Tripura Central Observer Sunil Deodhar told reporters, “The Lok Sabha polls are ahead and we are not only going to win both the Tripura Lok Sabha seats by a huge margin but also aspire that the opposition lose their security deposits. They have totally lost their base and this reality has been reflected in the Panchayat bypolls where they even could not find candidates to contest.”
