They were held for murder, rape androbbery

Five Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Delhi, India for their involvement in murder, rape and robbery.

Delhi Police arrested the interstate gang members on Saturday, following a brief encounter in New Friends Colony’s Taimoor Nagar area.

Quoting NDTV, UNB said two gang members sustained bullet injuries and are currently hospitalized.

Additional Commissioner of police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan said the arrestees were in Taimoor Nagar to look for a house where they could commit robbery.

The gang was involved in various incidents of crime such as robbery, murder and rape across different parts of the country, he said.

The shootout took place between 12:15am and 12:30am on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The Crime Branch officials, who were present in the area, asked them to surrender but they opened fired at them, police said. 

In retaliation, police fired back. Police also seized three pistols with some live cartridges and house-breaking instruments.
