Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's post-mortem report confirms suicide

The preliminary post-mortem of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has confirmed that he committed suicide.

The 34-year-old actor was found hanging at his Mumbai residence on Sunday. 

Sushant Singh Rajput's body was taken to Mumbai's Cooper Hospital where post-mortem was performed from 10:30 pm to around 11:30 pm on Sunday. He has also tested negative for Covid-19, reports India TV.

It has been revealed that the last thing Sushant consumed before ending his life was a glass of juice on Sunday morning, at around 10am. He then locked himself up in his bedroom, refusing to respond despite repeated knocks on the door by his domestic help, who then called neighbours.

The police arrived shortly afterward and broke into Sushant's flat around 12.30 pm and found him hanging.

Police officials confirmed there was no suicide note. Sushant was suffering from depression for the last six months and also undergoing treatment at the Hinduja Hospital.

“Prima Facie, this looks like a case of suicide. No suspicious thing was found at the spot," said Mumbai Police DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, reports Zeenews.
