The West Bengal chief minister was pushed while campaigning in Nandigram
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered a leg injury after being pushed in Nandigram area of the Purba Medinipur district in West Bengal, reports ANI.
She said: “A few people pushed me when I was near my car. I suffered an injury in my leg.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Banerjee logged her nomination for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal from the Nandigram seat.
Afterwards, she visited the Durga Temple in the Shibrampur village.
The assembly polls – in eight phases – are set to begin on March 27.
About 7.3 million voters will choose a representative for the 17th legislative assembly in West Bengal.
